1. Reading on the couch or on the bed?
It depends on the time of day, actually! If it’s in the morning or afternoon, usually I’ll read on the recliner in my living room with my puppy in my lap. At night, I’ll read in my bed where I’m most comfortable.
2. Male main character or female main character?
I don’t mind which one, actually. I love reading books with a dual perspective, with alternating male and female point of views. Usually, though, those are romances. However, if there was a specific answer, most of the books that are classified as my favorites have a female main character.
3. Sweet snacks or salty snacks when reading?
I actually don’t eat while I’m reading. I’m too focused on the book than the snacks.
4. Trilogies or quartets?
Truly, I prefer standalones, but out of the two, I think I’d prefer trilogies. It’s less of a commitment, and plus, usually when a series goes past three books (except for Harry Potter and Vampire Academy), it begins to be drawn out and excessive. I’m about to start reading The Mortal Instruments, so we’ll see how I feel about that six book series.
5. First-person point of view or third-person point of view?
First-person, definitely! Some of my favorite books, however, are told in third-person, but I’d definitely prefer to read first-person. I feel more connected to the story and the character that way.
6. Reading at night or in the morning?
Usually at night. I tend to sleep in when I’m not in school or working, and I get the most reading done at night when I’m fully invested in the story.
7. Libraries or bookstores?
Bookstores! Considering my local library is pretty terrible, I never step foot in there. I just prefer the entire “feel” of a bookstore.
8. Books that make you laugh or make you cry?
Cry! If a book can move me to tears (and it doesn’t happen often), it’s an amazing book, in my opinion.
9. Black book covers or white book covers?
Without dust jackets? Black. Paperback? White. I don’t know why and I can’t explain it, but it is what it is.
10. Character-driven or plot-driven stories?
A healthy mix of both makes the perfect story!
